What is Donors Capital Fund?
Donors Capital Fund is a 501(c)(3) public charity and a 509(a)(3) supporting organization founded to assist the donor-advised fund sponsor DonorsTrust by facilitating grant-making to non-profit organizations that seek to address society’s most pressing needs through civil society and private philanthropic initiatives, without increasing the size and scope of government.
Our Mission & Principles
Over the years, it has become all too common to see philanthropic capital stray from the original donor’s wishes and be used for purposes other than what the original benefactor intended. Donors Capital Fund and DonorsTrust were established as antidotes for those donors who wish to see their charitable capital used for purposes and programs consistent with the principles of a free society, such as free enterprise, equal access under the law, non-violence, personal responsibility, entrepreneurship, and voluntary actions to address problems.
Donors Capital Fund and DonorsTrust support public charities that are firmly committed to strengthening civil society and promoting private initiatives rather than government programs as the solution to pressing issues in the areas of social welfare, health, the environment, economic policy, governance, foreign relations, and arts and culture.
Consistent with its mission to promote organizations that are dedicated to the ideals of limited government, personal responsibility, and free enterprise, the Donors Capital Fund board of directors is comprised of representatives from a range of liberty-oriented non-profits.
Support New Non-Profits, Foreign Charities, and other Partners
Donors Capital Fund works closely with DonorsTrust to support a number of projects and institutions, including new non-profits for which we serve as a fiscal sponsor, a select group of qualified foreign non-profit organizations, and other partners whose activities are compatible with DonorsTrust’s mission.
The programs and partners we support carry out a broad range of private philanthropic initiatives, including those relating to social welfare, health, the environment, economic policy, governance, foreign relations, and arts and culture. Donors who wish to support our partners and projects can make tax deductible contributions to Donors Capital Fund that are designated for the support of those programs.
